Freelancer Cybersecurity Trainer

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct live, instructor-led virtual and/or on-site training sessions across various cybersecurity domains (e.g., network security, ethical hacking, incident response, threat intelligence, cloud security, and governance). Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that address the key concepts and skills required to protect organizations from cyber threats. Customize training programs and content to meet the specific needs of different audiences, including IT professionals, security teams, and non-technical staff. Provide real-world case studies, hands-on labs, and live demonstrations to enhance learning. Stay up-to-date with emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices to ensure content remains relevant and cutting-edge. Offer practical guidance to students in preparation for cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or other industry certifications. Provide personalized mentoring, coaching, and feedback to students during and after training sessions. Manage the class effectively by fostering a collaborative learning environment and encouraging participation. Evaluate and track student progress and provide constructive feedback on assignments and assessments. Adapt training delivery to meet the needs of different learning styles and environments, both in-person and remotely. Assist with developing training materials, presentations, and documentation as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Proven Experience:

At least 3+ years of experience in teaching or training within the cybersecurity domain.

Cybersecurity Expertise:

Strong knowledge and practical experience in various cybersecurity areas (e.g., ethical hacking, network security, incident response, cloud security, penetration testing, etc.).

Certifications:

At least one of the following certifications (or equivalent experience): CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, CISM, or similar recognized cybersecurity certifications.

Teaching Experience:

Prior experience delivering cybersecurity training sessions, webinars, or workshops in a clear and engaging manner.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with common cybersecurity tools, techniques, and frameworks (e.g., Kali Linux, Wireshark, Metasploit, NIST, OWASP, etc.).

Clear Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex topics in an accessible way for a diverse audience.

Adaptability:

Ability to deliver training both remotely and in person, with flexibility based on client needs.

Interactive Approach:

Ability to engage students with hands-on labs, case studies, and scenarios that reflect real-world cybersecurity challenges.

Assessment Skills:

Ability to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.

Technology Proficiency:

Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other e-learning platforms)
