Key Responsibilities

Designing and Creating Effects: Conceptualise and create realistic or fantastical visual elements, including explosions, fluid simulations, and magical effects, often using software like Blender/Houdini. 3D Modeling and Animation: Design 3D models of characters, objects, and environments using software such as Maya and Blender, and bring them to life through Conceptualise. Texturing and Shading: Create realistic textures and shaders to define the visual appearance of 3D assets and environments. Compositing: Seamlessly integrate computer-generated elements with live-action footage, ensuring proper color matching and visual consistency. Motion Tracking and Rotoscoping: Track camera movement in live-action footage and trace specific elements to create masks for integration and manipulation. Lighting and Rendering: Apply lighting and shadows to 3D scenes to achieve a believable and aesthetically pleasing look, then render the final images. Collaboration and Problem-Solving: Work closely with directors, supervisors, and other artists to bring their artistic vision to life and solve technical issues in the pipeline. Project Management: Keep track of daily progress and report on tasks, ensuring that visual effects are delivered on time and meet project requirements.

Key Skills

Technical Proficiency: Expertise in industry-standard software such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, and Adobe After Effects. Creative Talent: A strong artistic eye for composition, color, lighting, and storytelling to create compelling visuals. Understanding of Visual Principles: Knowledge of how light, shadow, texture, and motion work to create realistic or stylized effects. Problem-Solving: The ability to analyze and overcome complex technical and artistic challenges in the VFX pipeline. Teamwork and Communication: Effective collaboration with diverse creative and technical teams.
