Accurately translate German academic, technical, and research documents into English while preserving meaning, tone, and context.
Conduct research to ensure correct interpretation of domain-specific terminology, particularly in engineering, technology, legal, and scientific content.
Support the preparation and refinement of English-language reports, and research papers.
Ensure translations meet academic or professional standards, including clarity, accuracy, and linguistic quality.
Collaborate with project supervisors to clarify ambiguities, suggest improvements, and provide culturally appropriate linguistic adaptations.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation Studies, Linguistics, German and English Language.
Certification in professional translation (e.g., ATA, ITI, Goethe-Institut, or equivalent) is preferred.
Strong academic or professional background in research translation, particularly technical, legal, or scientific domains.
Minimum 2 years of professional translation experience, focusing on German-to-English research or academic content.
Prior experience translating technical, legal, or scientific documents with domain-specific terminology.
Experience in proofreading, editing, or preparing manuscripts for journal submission is highly preferred.
Strong command of both German and English, with native-level fluency in English preferred.
Excellent understanding of academic writing standards (APA, IEEE, MLA, or similar).
Ability to interpret and translate complex terminology in engineering, sciences, or social sciences.
Translate German research papers, reports, technical documentation, and presentations into clear, high-quality English suitable for academic or professional use.
Edit, proofread, and refine translated texts to meet journal or institutional standards.
Ensure linguistic consistency, terminology accuracy, and contextual relevance across translated content.
Work closely with the supervisor for feedback, revision, and final submission preparation.
