Freelance Photo Assistant
--someone who can support the head photographer on set, handle equipment efficiently, and ensure smooth coordination during shoots.
Job Summary
We're seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual to assist the head photographer during photo and video shoots. The role involves equipment handling, set preparation, client coordination, and ensuring on-ground efficiency. If you enjoy supporting creative workflows, learning camera systems, and being part of a fast-paced production environment, this role is the perfect fit.
ResponsibilitiesOn-Set Assistance
Support the head photographer during all shoot stages--setup, execution, and wrap-up.
Assist with lighting, reflectors, modifiers, backdrops, and set organization.
Ensure smooth transitions between shot setups and maintain a clean working space.
Equipment Handling
Manage and organize camera bodies, lenses, lights, batteries, memory cards, and accessories.
Ensure all equipment is safely packed, transported, and handled during shoots.
Monitor battery status, card backups, and equipment readiness throughout the session.
Coordination & Support
Communicate with clients, models, and team members professionally during shoots.
Help manage shot lists, schedules, and small on-ground tasks.
Provide general assistance required for creative or logistical efficiency.
Requirements
1-3 years of experience assisting photographers or working in photo/video production (portfolio or prior work references preferred).
Strong knowledge of DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, reflectors, tripods, and basic grips.
Ability to lift and transport equipment as required for shoots.
Good sense of timing, discipline, and on-ground coordination.
Quick learner with a proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
Comfortable working in fast-paced environments, both indoor and outdoor.
Punctual, professional, and team-oriented.
