Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced and passionate

Freelance Career Counsellor

to guide school and college students through structured assessments, counselling sessions, and personalized career planning. The ideal consultant must have a strong background in student psychology, psychometric assessments, and career guidance.

You will work closely with our academic & career development team to deliver expert career counselling under the eKal Academy framework.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct

one-on-one counselling sessions

for students (Grades 8-12 & college students). Interpret

psychometric, aptitude, and interest assessment reports

and explain results to students & parents. Provide customized

career path recommendations

, academic planning, and subject selection guidance. Assist students in

stream selection

, future career roadmap, and course planning. Advise students on

Indian & international education pathways

, entrance exams, colleges, skills, and career opportunities. Maintain detailed counselling session notes and follow-up reports in our system. Conduct group workshops, webinars, and orientation sessions as required. Coordinate with internal teams for program delivery, escalations, and student progress. Ensure high-quality counselling that aligns with our organizational standards. Stay updated with industry trends, new-age careers, and evolving education patterns (NEP, global programs, etc.).

Required Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 8+ years of experience

in career counselling for students. Master's degree in

Psychology / Counseling / Education / Career Guidance

(preferred). Certification in

psychometric testing or career counselling

is highly desirable. Proven experience in handling school students and parents. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Deep understanding of

Indian & International education systems

, competitive exams, and career trends. Ability to explain complex assessment reports in simple and meaningful ways. Self-driven, disciplined, and able to conduct sessions professionally.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with schools, coaching institutions, or edtech platforms. Knowledge of NEP 2020, CBSE/ICSE/IB/IGCSE boards. Experience with tools like psychometric assessments, LMS systems, and CRM platforms.
Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
