Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled FPV Drone Pilot with hands-on experience in flying and testing FPV drones across multiple flight modes and configurations. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to tune, calibrate, and modify drone firmware (e.g., Betaflight, iNav, ArduPilot, or PX4) to enhance flight performance and stability. This role will involve test flights, performance evaluation, R&D experimentation, and feedback to the engineering team for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and test FPV drones in various flight modes (Angle, Horizon, Acro, Manual, GPS-assisted, etc.) Perform R&D flight experiments to evaluate new hardware, firmware updates, and sensor integrations. Tune and tweak flight controller parameters and firmware settings for optimal flight performance. Work closely with hardware and software engineers to validate new drone designs and configurations. Conduct flight safety checks, pre-flight/post-flight inspections, and maintain drone systems. Capture flight logs, analyze telemetry data, and document performance metrics. Troubleshoot hardware, radio link, or firmware issues encountered during test flights. Ensure compliance with internal R&D and DGCA safety protocols. Assist in developing flight training and testing procedures for R&D evaluation. Maintain and manage FPV equipment, batteries, transmitters, and repair tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or related field (preferred but not mandatory for skilled pilots). Proven experience as an

FPV drone pilot (minimum 2 years preferred).

Strong understanding of flight controllers, ESCs, receivers, and FPV system components. Experience with firmware platforms such as Betaflight, iNav, PX4, or ArduPilot. Knowledge of PID tuning, ESC calibration, and radio setup (OpenTX, EdgeTX). Familiarity with radio frequencies, video transmission systems (VTX), and antenna setups. Basic soldering, wiring, and electronic troubleshooting skills. Ability to interpret and modify CLI parameters or configuration files in flight firmware. Experience analyzing Blackbox flight logs for performance tuning. Good understanding of LiPo battery handling and drone maintenance practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in R&D testing, drone assembly, or custom FPV builds. Knowledge of simulation tools (e.g., Betaflight Configurator, INAV Configurator, Mission Planner). Exposure to FPV racing drones, cinewhoops, and long-range FPV setups. Familiarity with ArduPilot SITL, ROS2, or hardware-in-loop simulations. Certified or licensed drone pilot (DGCA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset. Detail-oriented and disciplined in following flight safety procedures. Excellent communication and coordination with engineering teams. Passionate about drones, flight dynamics, and technology experimentation.
