Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented
FPS Engineer
with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in preparing drawings and designing Fire Protection and Fire Alarm Systems (FPS & FAS). The role involves end-to-end project support from concept to commissioning, including coordination with architects, drafting teams, fire authorities, and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review
FPS & FAS system drawings
including schematics, GFCs, and schedules using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
Provide
technical inputs
and
engineering support
throughout all project phases--from conception to completion.
Conceptualize and design comprehensive
firefighting systems
, including:
Fire detection and alarm systems
Sprinkler systems
Fire hydrants
Foam-based and gas-based suppression systems (FM200, CO?, Novec, etc.)
Ensure compliance with
IS standards, NBC
, and other applicable fire safety regulations.
Contribute to
egress design
and provide inputs on:
Refuge areas
Fire escape travel distances
Fire-rated doors
Fire driveways and other project-specific fire safety elements
Coordinate with
architects
for fire compartmentation, assembly points, fire corridors, and similar safety-related architectural requirements.
Liaise with
local fire authorities
for plan submissions and approvals of FPS/FAS designs.
Monitor and manage
technical documentation
, including datasheets, schematic approvals, and document control for all FPS-related work.
Address and resolve
site-level queries
related to fire protection design and installation, ensuring timely flow of construction data and support.
Oversee production and review of technical deliverables such as
drawings, calculations, reports
, and technical submissions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Fire / Safety Engineering or relevant discipline.
Minimum 3 years' experience
in fire protection design and drafting.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD
,
Revit
, and
Navisworks
.
Strong knowledge of
IS codes
,
NBC
, and international fire safety standards.
Experience in preparing
GFC drawings
, BOQs, MTOs, schematics, and technical schedules.
Ability to effectively coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and statutory bodies.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience in high-rise, industrial, or commercial infrastructure projects.
Exposure to integrated MEP coordination.
Knowledge of NFPA standards is an added advantage.
