oversees daily production, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency from initial molding to finished products. This role demands strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of the specific processes involved in casting aluminium. Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight:

Supervise all daily foundry operations, including melting, molding, pouring, fettling (cleaning/finishing), and heat treatment processes.

Quality Control:

Ensure products meet customer and industry quality standards (e.g., ISO) by implementing robust quality control systems and identifying/troubleshooting casting defects like blow holes, shrinkage, or sand inclusion.

Team Management:

Manage manpower planning, assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and guidance to a team of moulding technicians and foundry workers.

Process Improvement:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, OEE methodologies) to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production flow.

Safety and Compliance:

Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment, which includes proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with all safety regulations.

Maintenance Coordination:

Coordinate with maintenance teams to address machinery issues promptly, including working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a foundry, specifically with Aluminum sand casting or gravity die casting (GDC) processes.

Technical Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of metallurgy, casting processes, and the functionality of dies and machinery.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to troubleshoot production issues related to machinery, process flow, and product quality under pressure.

Leadership:

Strong communication, supervisory, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse workforce.

Education:

A degree or diploma in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering.
