Your Mandate: The Soul of the Firmware

As our Founding Firmware Architect, you are the single source of truth for the device's intelligence. You will be partnered with our A-Player Hardware Architect, who will deliver a world-class, custom hardware platform into your hands. Your mission is to breathe life into that hardware, architecting a resilient, production-grade embedded system that will serve as the bedrock of our entire company.

Architect and build bulletproof firmware

in C/C++ using

ESP-IDF and a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) like FreeRTOS.

Your architecture will be the gold standard for a complex, multi-threaded, low-power IoT device.

Work hand-in-hand with our Hardware Architect

to define system requirements, co-design the system for performance, and lead the firmware side of a seamless board bring-up. Build a

secure and fail-safe FOTA update pipeline with rollback protection.

This is a non-negotiable, Day 1 requirement. Be

pathologically obsessed with low-power optimization

, using deep sleep, duty cycling, and intelligent peripheral management to maximize battery life. Be the first

firmware leader

in the company. Your standards for quality, security, and documentation will define our software engineering culture for the next decade.

Who You Are: The A-Player Firmware Profile

You have

5+ years of professional experience

taking complex, real-world embedded IoT products from concept to production. You are a

master of the modern IoT stack.

You don't just "know" ESP-IDF and FreeRTOS; you have

architected complex, multi-threaded, low-power applications with them.

You are an expert at the hardware-software interface. You can read a datasheet in your sleep, you live and breathe the world of

oscilloscopes and logic analyzers

, and you have a proven track record of bringing up new custom hardware. You have a

security-first, systems-level mindset.

You have implemented secure boot, flash encryption, and robust OTA pipelines in a commercial product. You are a first-principles thinker who is energized by uncertainty and thrives on the immense responsibility of a founding role. You've turned down comfortable, high-paying jobs before because the mission wasn't big enough.

The Offer: Your Stake in the Mission:

Equity First:

This is the primary compensation. We are offering a significant, founder-level equity stake (2-4%). Your upside is in ownership of what we build together.

Salary:

A competitive pre-seed salary designed to cover your burn rate. We are all sacrificing short-term cash for a life-changing outcome. If you are optimizing for salary, this is the wrong company.

Ownership, Not Employment:

From Day 1, you will be a builder of the company, not a cog in a machine. Your voice will shape our product, culture, and strategy.
