About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on and visionary

Founding Engineering Manager

to lead the development of our cutting-edge Voice AI platform. This is a foundational role--ideal for a seasoned backend engineer who thrives in high-impact environments and wants to shape both product and engineering culture from the ground up.
You'll be at the heart of engineering leadership--scaling infrastructure, driving architectural decisions, mentoring early team members, and collaborating with AI researchers and customer-facing teams to bring high-performance AI products to life. Your work will directly influence mission-critical deployments for major clients in BFSI, fintech, and other regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Execution

Architect, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power our real-time voice AI systems.
Make core decisions around system architecture, infrastructure, performance optimization, and security.
Write clean, efficient, and production-grade code--primarily in Go or Python.

Team Building & Mentorship

Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team from the ground up.
Set best practices around code quality, deployment pipelines, testing, and documentation.

Product & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with co-founders, AI researchers, product managers, and customer success teams to align engineering with business goals.
Translate complex technical requirements into fast, reliable, and secure systems.

Reliability & Compliance

Ensure platform uptime, security, and compliance--especially for enterprise clients in regulated industries.
Own CI/CD pipelines, observability stack, and infrastructure resilience.

You'll Thrive in This Role If You

Have 5-10 years of backend development experience, with a strong foundation in scalable systems and microservices.
Have previously taken a backend system from MVP to production for 100+ users (or more).
Take pride in elegant system design, clean architecture, and solving complex infra challenges.
Enjoy remaining hands-on while also leading and mentoring engineers.
Are excited about building something from scratch in a high-ownership environment.

Bonus Points If You

Have experience working with AI/LLM/NLP or voice-based interfaces.
Have built tech for regulated industries like BFSI, fintech, or healthcare.
Have been part of an early-stage startup and understand what it takes to scale.
