About the Role

Our partner brand - Shikayat is building a platform to

simplify consumer complaints

, integrating automation, AI, and multi-channel workflows. We are looking for a

founding engineer

who can take ownership of the backend and build scalable systems, while also contributing to the frontend using React.

This is an opportunity to

shape the core architecture

, experiment with APIs, automation, OCR, AI integration, and define how the product grows. You will work directly with the founder, make key technical decisions, and see your work impact real users from day one.

What You'll Build

Scalable backend APIs, workflows, and automation pipelines. Integrations with OCR, AI, email, and government/private portals. Database schemas, authentication, dashboards, and tracking systems. Lightweight React frontend screens and forms for web and admin dashboards. Research and prototype automation solutions for dynamic web portals. End-to-end features you will own--ideate, build, test, deploy.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain backend systems and APIs. Integrate external services and automation pipelines. Collaborate on simple frontend interfaces in React. Take ownership of feature development and delivery. Experiment with new tools, libraries, and frameworks to solve real problems. Communicate progress and challenges clearly in English.

Requirements

1-2 years of backend development experience (or freshers with strong projects). Proficient in Node.js, Python, or similar backend frameworks. Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Firebase, or Supabase. Comfortable integrating REST APIs and external services. Basic frontend experience with React.js (components, hooks, routing). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to research and learn independently. Git/GitHub experience and collaborative workflow understanding.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with automation, scraping, or RPA tools (Puppeteer, Playwright). Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Firebase). Exposure to Flutter or cross-platform mobile apps. Understanding of deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
