Job Summary

The Formwork / Shuttering Yard In-Charge is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, issuance, return, and inventory control of formwork and shuttering materials. The role ensures timely availability of materials to project sites, proper upkeep of formwork systems, and minimization of loss and damage.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Yard & Material Management

Manage daily operations of the shuttering/formwork yard Ensure proper stacking, identification, and storage of shuttering materials Maintain inventory of formwork materials such as plates, beams, props, jacks, clamps, scaffolding, and accessories

Issue & Return Control

Coordinate issuance of formwork materials to project sites as per requirement Track material movement (issue, return, transfer between sites) Verify returned materials and identify damage or shortages

Maintenance & Repair

Plan and supervise cleaning, oiling, and maintenance of shuttering materials Coordinate minor repairs, welding, straightening, and replacement Ensure materials are in reusable condition before dispatch

Inventory & Documentation

Maintain stock registers, issue/return registers, and daily yard records Conduct periodic physical stock verification Report shortages, damages, and scrap generation to management

Coordination & Planning

Coordinate with site engineers, store team, transport team, and vendors Plan material availability as per project schedules Ensure timely dispatch and receipt of materials

Safety & Housekeeping

Ensure safe handling, loading, and unloading of formwork materials Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards in the yard Enforce use of PPE by yard workers

Qualifications

Diploma / ITI / 10+2 (Civil or Mechanical preferred) Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Experience

5-10 years

of experience in formwork/shuttering yard operations Experience with

Aluminum formwork / MS shuttering / H-frame / Cuplock systems

preferred

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of shuttering and scaffolding systems Inventory control and material management skills Basic documentation and record-keeping Leadership and manpower handling Understanding of safety practices Ability to coordinate with multiple teams
