Job Description

Job Summary

The Formulation & Development (F&D) Manager will be responsible for leading the development of new pharmaceutical/nutraceutical formulations from concept to commercialization. The role includes product design, optimization, scale-up, technology transfer, and ensuring regulatory compliance while managing the F&D team and coordinating with cross-functional departments.

Key Responsibilities

Formulation Development



Develop and optimize formulations for

tablets, capsules, powders, liquids, soft gels, sachets, and other dosage forms

(pharma/nutraceutical). Conduct pre-formulation studies, excipient compatibility, and stability studies. Improve existing formulations for cost, quality, performance, and shelf life.

Process Development & Scale-Up



Lead pilot-scale and commercial-scale trials. Ensure smooth technology transfer from R&D to production. Troubleshoot formulation and process-related issues during scale-up and manufacturing.

Regulatory & Documentation



Prepare and review formulation development reports, SOPs, BMRs, and validation documents. Ensure compliance with

GMP, GLP, ICH, WHO, FDA, FSSAI

(as applicable). Support regulatory submissions, audits, and product registrations.

Project & Team Management



Manage multiple development projects with defined timelines. Lead, mentor, and train F&D scientists and executives. Coordinate with QA, QC, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, and Production teams.

Innovation & Market Support



Research new ingredients, technologies, and delivery systems. Support marketing with technical inputs, product differentiation, and claims substantiation. Keep up to date with industry trends, regulations, and competitor products.
Qualifications

M.Pharm / M.Sc / PhD

in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.

8-12+ years

of experience in formulation & development (pharma/nutraceutical). Proven experience in

oral solid and/or liquid dosage forms

. Strong knowledge of excipients, stability, scale-up, and regulatory requirements.

Pay: ?40,000.00 - ?70,000.00 per month
