Strategy & Planning
Define and implement product/process development strategy aligned with business goals.
Identify new product, technology, and market development opportunities.
Prepare development roadmaps, timelines, and budgets.
Product / Process Development
Lead end-to-end development of new products or processes from concept to production.
Ensure feasibility studies, design validation, and trials are conducted effectively.
Drive continuous improvement in existing products and manufacturing processes.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with Production, Quality, Purchase, Marketing, and Sales teams.
Coordinate with customers for technical discussions, trials, and approvals.
Support commercialization and smooth handover to production.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (ISO, IATF, customer-specific requirements).
Oversee APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and other development documentation.
Ensure products meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.
Cost & Value Engineering
Drive cost reduction initiatives through design optimization and value engineering.
Improve material utilization, tooling efficiency, and cycle time.
Evaluate make/buy decisions and alternate materials or processes.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead, mentor, and develop the development/engineering team.
Allocate resources effectively and monitor project progress.
Encourage innovation, problem-solving, and technical skill development.
Risk Management
Identify technical, schedule, and cost risks in development projects.
Implement mitigation plans and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Supplier & Technology Development
Support supplier development for new materials, tooling, and processes.
Evaluate and introduce new technologies, machines, and automation.
