Job Summary



The Forex & Hedging Executive will be responsible for managing foreign exchange exposure, executing hedging strategies, monitoring currency movements, and ensuring compliance with internal treasury policies. The role involves close coordination with banks, internal stakeholders, and finance teams to mitigate foreign exchange risks and optimize costs.

Key Responsibilities



Forex & Hedging Operations



Monitor daily foreign exchange markets and currency movements. Identify and assess foreign exchange exposure arising from imports, exports, loans, and other transactions. Execute forex transactions including spot, forward, and derivative contracts as per company policy. Implement hedging strategies to minimize currency risk and protect margins. Track hedging positions and ensure timely rollover, cancellation, or maturity. Working knowledge of London Metal Exchange (LME) operations, including metal pricing, futures contracts, and hedging mechanisms. Ability to manage and hedge commodity price risk using LME-linked contracts for metals Understanding of the impact of LME price movements on procurement costs, inventory valuation, and profitability.

Treasury & Banking Coordination



Liaise with banks and authorized dealers for forex rates, confirmations, and deal execution. Negotiate competitive forex rates and hedging costs with banks. Maintain relationships with multiple banks and treasury partners. Ensure timely settlement of forex contracts and related payments.

Compliance & Reporting



Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines, FEMA regulations, and internal treasury policies. Maintain proper documentation for all forex and hedging transactions. Prepare periodic reports on forex exposure, hedging status, MTM (Mark-to-Market), and realized/unrealized gains or losses. Support audits (internal, statutory, and bank audits) related to forex transactions.

Analysis & Risk Management



Analyze currency trends and provide insights/recommendations to management. Assess the impact of currency fluctuations on business profitability. Assist in developing and improving forex risk management policies and procedures.

Coordination & Support



Coordinate with accounts, procurement, sales, and logistics teams to forecast forex exposure. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning from a forex perspective. Assist senior management in decision-making related to currency risk.

Key Skills & Competencies



Strong understanding of forex markets, hedging instruments, and treasury operations. Knowledge of FEMA, RBI regulations, and compliance requirements. Analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally preferred). Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transactions.

Educational Qualification



Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field. MBA (Finance) / Treasury Certification preferred will be add on

Experience



2-5 years of relevant experience in forex, treasury, or hedging operations. Experience in manufacturing, trading, import-export, or corporate treasury is an advantage.
