Mechanical Foreman - DRI Plant Department Mechanical Maintenance Reports To Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent / Maintenance Manager Job Summary The Mechanical Foreman - DRI Plant is responsible for supervising and coordinating mechanical maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of DRI plant equipment. This role leads mechanical technicians during preventive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance of critical DRI systems, ensuring minimum downtime and compliance with safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Supervision & Leadership Supervise and lead mechanical technicians, fitters, and helpers on shift Assign daily maintenance jobs and prioritize work based on plant requirements Ensure proper manpower utilization and discipline within the crew Train and mentor technicians on DRI plant equipment and maintenance practices Mechanical Maintenance Oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of DRI plant equipment, including: Rotary kilns / Shaft furnaces Conveyors, bucket elevators, and material handling systems Compressors, blowers, fans, and pumps Gearboxes, couplings, bearings, and lubrication systems Dust collection systems and gas handling equipment Support shutdown and turnaround maintenance activities Troubleshoot mechanical failures to minimize downtime Ensure correct installation, alignment, and commissioning of mechanical equipment Safety & Compliance Enforce plant safety rules, permit-to-work systems, and lockout/tagout procedures Conduct toolbox talks and job safety analyses Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and company safety standards Coordination & Reporting Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process teams Communicate equipment condition, failures, and repair status to management Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and shift reports Assist in spare parts planning and inventory control Qualifications Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 8-12 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in DRI / Steel / Iron-making plants Minimum 3-5 years in a foreman or supervisory role Strong understanding of DRI plant equipment and processes Skills & Competencies Hands-on knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices Strong leadership and decision-making skills Ability to work under pressure in a continuous process plant Good communication and coordination skills Familiarity with CMMS systems (preferred) Working Conditions Continuous process plant environment Shift duty required Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and industrial conditions For Raigarh Chhattisgarh DRI PLANT

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month
