Position Title:

Food Technologist

Position Overview:



The Food Technologist role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create new food products and nutraceutical products, adhering to food safety regulations, staying current with industry trends, and collaborating with marketing, production, and suppliers. This includes conducting experiments, designing recipes, and optimizing food formulations. The role also involves staying updated on market demands and sourcing high-quality ingredients and materials from suppliers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



1. Developing new food products to meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements. This involves conducting experiments, designing recipes, and optimizing food formulations and micronutrients to achieve the desired taste, texture, functionality, and shelf life.

2. Handling the formulation and development of various food products for industries like oil, milk and milk products, flour, rice, bread-bakery, confectionery, beverages, RTC/RTE.

3. Conduct research, development, and scale-up of new food products in a laboratory environment.

4. Collaborate with the suppliers to obtain the best results for product development.

5. Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring all project milestones are met.

6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research and development, marketing, and production, to create new or improve existing Food, Nutrition, and Nutraceutical products.

7. Stay up-to-date with food safety regulations and standards, such as those from the FSSAI.

8. Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products

9. Conduct experiments and trials to optimize food production processes and maximize efficiency

10. Stay updated on industry trends and market demands to identify potential product opportunities

11. Develop a systematic approach to issues and troubleshoot them

Responsibility and Decision Making Authority:



Empowered to make decisions, and authority to make cross functional decisions in partnership with peers of other functions.

Qualifications/Competencies/Position Requirements:



Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Functional Foods/FMCG/ Nutraceutical industry. Strong technical knowledge of functional foods/ Nutraceutical processing techniques, ingredient functionality, and formulation. Proven experience in the formulation and development of various food products for industries like oil, milk and milk products, flour, rice, bread-bakery, confectionery, beverages, RTC/RTE. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets. Familiarity with food safety and quality management systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented, with good organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Education and Experience:

PhD or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Pharma or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Functional Foods/FMCG/
Nutraceutical industry.

The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of the drivers of the business and should have demonstrated the ability to adapt and deliver in an aggressive and competitive environment
Travel:

Ability to travel as required by role.
Remuneration:

As per industry. Will consider higher for deserving candidates.

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?60,000.00 per month
