Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced

Food Processing Sector Expert

to support our initiatives in the food processing domain. The expert will bring in-depth sector knowledge, technical insight and on-ground implementation experience to design, guide, and evaluate projects in the food processing sector, particularly those aligned with government and industrial development objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide sectoral expertise in food processing for the design, implementation and evaluation of project activities. Contribute to project planning, stakeholder engagement, and technical advisory across value chains in the food processing sector. Assist in developing sector-specific training content, business models, SOPs and quality assurance frameworks. Coordinate with government departments, industry bodies, and technical institutions for project alignment and delivery. Monitor compliance with food safety standards (FOSTAC, HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.) in program implementation. Provide technical inputs for capacity building of enterprises, producer groups, and processors. Support reporting and documentation aligned with project deliverables and quality benchmarks.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Food Technology, Food Processing, Food Science, Agriculture, or related discipline) with

minimum 10 years

of sectoral experience
OR

Master's degree in a relevant field with

minimum 8 years

of sectoral experience

Experience-Based Additional Criteria:

At least

2 years of experience in delivering long-term government sector projects

- 1 mark Minimum

5 years of experience in industrial development

in the food processing sector - 1 mark

Desirable Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of food safety, quality control, supply chain management and value addition in food processing Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders including government bodies, industry players, and community-based organizations Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills Ability to mentor and guide technical teams and field-level implementers Familiarity with government schemes related to MSMEs, FPOs, food parks, and agro-processing clusters is a plus
