The Food Hygiene and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing hygiene, food safety, and sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations. This role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene are maintained across all food handling and processing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor food hygiene and safety policies and procedures across all food operations.
Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSAI, etc.).
Identify hygiene risks and implement corrective actions.
Oversee cleaning and sanitation schedules and verify effectiveness.
Deliver food safety and hygiene training to staff and ensure continuous education and awareness.
Lead investigations into food safety incidents and customer complaints related to hygiene and contamination.
Maintain documentation related to food safety, cleaning, and training records.
Liaise with regulatory bodies during audits and inspections; prepare for external certification audits.
Monitor pest control activities and ensure timely intervention and prevention strategies.
Stay updated on food safety legislation and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a food safety/hygiene role, preferably in food manufacturing, hospitality, or catering.
In-depth knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and other food safety standards.
Strong auditing and reporting skills.
Certification in Food Safety / HACCP Level 3 or 4 (preferred).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
