Food Technologist - Product Innovation & Range Development

Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and innovative Food Technologist to drive new product development, recipe formulation, and shelf-life optimisation for Ready-to-Cook (RTC) and Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food products. The role blends food science with deep Indian culinary understanding to develop scalable, clean-label, and authentic products for the Indian market.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and innovate RTC/RTE products including curries, gravies, batters, spice mixes, snacks, and meal kits. Reformulate recipes for scalability, shelf stability, and clean-label compliance. Conduct lab trials, pilot runs, and sensory evaluations to achieve consistent taste and texture. Perform shelf-life studies including microbiological testing, pH, water activity, and stability analysis. Standardize production processes and prepare SOPs for commercial manufacturing. Support scale-up, process optimization, and wastage reduction. Manage ingredient sourcing, vendor validation, and raw material quality. Ensure compliance with FSSAI and regulatory documentation requirements. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams for consumer testing and product positioning.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of food chemistry, processing, and shelf-life science. Understanding of Indian regional cuisines and spice behavior. Experience with clean-label, vegetarian, preservative-free products. Strong documentation, coordination, and project management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-product development environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology / Food Science or related field. 3-7 years of experience in NPD for RTC, RTE, snacks, spices, or FMCG food products. Hands-on experience with trials, shelf-life studies, and product launches.

CTC:
