Job Description

:
The F&B Captain supervises a section/restaurant and ensures smooth food and beverage service, high guest satisfaction, and adherence to service, hygiene, and safety standards.?
Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of service staff(stewards/waiters/runners) in the assigned section.?
  • Ensure prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all guests, maintaining brand standards at all times.?
  • Greet and seat guests, present menus, explain specials/promotions, and assist with menu selections and upselling.?
  • Take and check food and beverage orders, communicate special requests/allergies to kitchen and bar, and follow up for timely service.??
  • Inspect table settings, side stations, and overall floor readiness before and during service; ensure cleanliness and mise-en-place.?
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally; resolve issues and escalate to seniors when required.?
  • Coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar to ensure accurate order execution and quality of food and beverages.?
  • Monitor portion control, presentation standards, and service sequence as per SOPs.?
  • Train, coach, and mentor new and existing service staff on standards, menu knowledge, and service skills.?
  • Assist in staff duty allocation, briefings, and shift handovers.?
  • Check and maintain par stock of operating equipment and supplies for the section; report shortages or damages.?
  • Enforce hygiene, grooming, safety, and sanitation standards in the restaurant at all times.?
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree in Hotel Management or relevant F&B experience (typically 2-4 years in service, including supervisory exposure).?
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, menu items, and basic wine/beverage knowledge.?
  • Good communication skills and guest-oriented attitude with confident, pleasant personality.?
