Job Description

Job Summary: As a Food and Beverage Service Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service in the hotel's food and beverage outlets. They assist guests with menu selections, take and deliver orders, ensure guest satisfaction, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment..

Duties and Responsibilities:

Guest Service:

o Greet guests warmly and assist them in selecting menu items.

o Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests.

o Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items.

o Ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders to guests.

o Address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.

o Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards guests at all times.

Food and Beverage Operations:

o Prepare dining areas for service, including setting tables and arranging seating.

o Ensure cleanliness and organization of all food and beverage areas.

o Assist in food and beverage preparation as needed.

o Monitor inventory levels and notify management of any shortages.

o Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.

Teamwork and Communication:

o Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure efficient service.

o Communicate guest requests and special instructions to kitchen and bar staff.

o Work closely with other departments to fulfill guest needs and preferences.

o Assist in training new team members as needed.

Cash Handling and Payment Processing:

o Process guest payments accurately using cash registers or POS systems.

o Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment securely.

o Prepare accurate bills and provide guests with receipts.

o Balance cash drawers at the end of each shift and report any discrepancies to management.

Cleanliness and Maintenance:

o Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and floors.

o Ensure all equipment and utensils are clean and in good working condition.

o Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.

o Follow proper procedures for cleaning and sanitizing food service areas.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in food and beverage service preferred.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and payment processing.

Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry trays of food and beverages.

Stamina to work in a busy environment and remain focused during peak hours.

Education:

High school diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management.

Additional Requirements:

Food handler's permit or certification may be required depending on local regulations.

Additional language skills may be beneficial, especially in multicultural environments.
