Final Inspector/Road Tester Roles & Responsibilities
Roles & responsibilities:
Automotive Inspector is responsible for carrying out inspections on cars and other vehicles in order to identify any defects and to ensure that they meet safety and quality standards. The role involves examining the vehicle's bodywork, engine, brakes, and other components, as well as using diagnostic tools and equipment to check for any faults.
Duties:
Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards
Perform road tests to identify any issues with a vehicle
Examine vehicle components such as brakes, suspension, steering, lights, tyres and windscreen
Carry out emissions tests
Test electrical systems and components
Write reports detailing any faults and advise on repairs
Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance
Ability to inspect vehicles for safety and operational compliance to established standards
Ability to work independently and effectively manage workload
Conducting road tests of vehicles to evaluate driving performance and handling.
Following test protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and consistent testing.
Documenting and reporting test results, including any issues or concerns.
Maintaining accurate test records, including vehicle mileage and service history.
Collaborating with other team members, such as mechanics and engineers, to identify and address any issues with the vehicle
