Job Summary

:

The Floor Supervisor oversees daily operations on the workshop or production floor in an automobile setting. This includes supervising technicians or assembly workers, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, managing workflow, and optimizing productivity. The role is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and timely service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

:

Team Supervision

: Supervise technicians, mechanics, and support staff on the workshop or production floor. Allocate jobs and monitor task completion and efficiency. Conduct daily briefings and assign duties based on priority.

Operations Management

: Ensure smooth workflow and minimize delays in service or production. Monitor work progress and intervene in case of delays or issues. Coordinate with inventory and spare parts teams for material availability.

Quality Control

: Ensure work is carried out as per OEM standards and guidelines. Perform quality checks and test drives (if applicable) before final delivery. Report any recurring defects or process failures to the manager.

Customer Coordination

: Interact with service advisors or customers (if needed) for job explanations or updates. Ensure customer vehicles are serviced or repaired within committed timelines.

Safety & Compliance

: Enforce safety protocols and maintain cleanliness on the shop floor. Ensure technicians follow standard operating procedures (SOPs). Conduct toolbox talks and participate in safety audits.

Documentation & Reporting

: Maintain job cards, inspection checklists, and work progress logs. Provide daily productivity and efficiency reports to the manager. Record and report tool and equipment usage, breakdowns, or incidents.

Skills & Qualifications

:

ITI/Diploma/Degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering. 3+ years of experience in workshop supervision or automobile service/production. Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in using DMS or workshop management software.
