Job Description

Scrap Plant Supervisor manages daily operations, team members, safety, and efficiency in a scrap/recycling yard, overseeing material sorting, processing (baling/shredding), quality control, environmental compliance, inventory, and logistics to meet production goals. Key duties include scheduling, troubleshooting, enforcing safety rules, and ensuring proper scrap handling and revenue optimization.

Scrap Plant Supervisor Role & Responsibilities

Operations & Production

: Direct day-to-day scrap processing (unloading, sorting, baling, shredding), manage equipment (balers, cranes, scales), and ensure optimal production rates.

Team Management

: Assign tasks, create work schedules, supervise operators/laborers, provide training, and conduct performance reviews.

Safety & Compliance

: Enforce safety protocols, ensure compliance with environmental regulations (CPCB/EPA), and maintain a clean/safe yard.

Quality Control

: Monitor scrap quality, prevent material mixing, and implement corrective actions for rejects/rework.

Logistics & Inventory

: Coordinate material flow, manage scrap inventory, and track incoming/outgoing deliveries.

Reporting & Communication

: Prepare daily/weekly reports on operations, challenges, and liaison with management/regulatory bodies.

Maintenance

: Schedule equipment maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure operational readiness.
