Purpose of the Role

The Fleet Manager is responsible for the

strategic, financial, and operational management

of Shriji Car Rentals' vehicle fleet to ensure

maximum uptime, cost efficiency, safety, compliance, and revenue protection

.
This role safeguards the company's

largest asset - the vehicle fleet

and ensures it delivers predictable service quality and profitability.

Fleet Operations & Availability

Ensure

optimal availability

of vehicles to meet booking demand without disruption. Plan and manage

fleet deployment

across locations, clients, and routes. Track

vehicle utilization, idle time, and rotation

to maximize ROI.

Maintenance & Cost Control

Establish and enforce

preventive maintenance schedules

for all vehicles. Control and reduce: Repair costs Breakdown incidents Tyre, battery and spare part wastage Approve and audit all

garage bills, service invoices, and spare part usage

. Maintain vehicle-wise

lifecycle cost records

.

Fuel & Misuse Control

Monitor and control

fuel consumption

through: GPS reports Log books Kilometer vs fuel benchmarks Investigate and report

fuel pilferage, misuse, and inefficiency

. Implement corrective actions against drivers or departments causing losses.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure 100% compliance of: RC, Insurance, PUC, Permit Fitness & Road Tax Prevent

fines, penalties, blacklisting, and vehicle seizures

. Coordinate

accident claims, insurance recovery and legal documentation

.

Driver & Vehicle Discipline

Enforce: Proper driving behavior Vehicle cleanliness Reporting of defects Coordinate with HR & Ops for

penalties, recovery, and disciplinary actions

for misuse or negligence.

Data, Reporting & Governance

Prepare and submit: Fleet cost reports Breakdown analysis Downtime reports Accident & damage reports Provide

vehicle-wise profitability analysis

to management. Support audit, compliance, and fraud prevention systems.

Asset Protection & Growth Planning

Recommend: Vehicle replacement Disposal of high-cost vehicles New vehicle purchases Assist management in

expansion planning

and cost forecasting.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum

3-7 years

in fleet, transport, or logistics management Strong knowledge of: Vehicle maintenance Fuel systems GPS tracking Insurance & permits Ability to handle

drivers, garages, vendors & auditors

High integrity and control mindset
