We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our team as Fixed Income Product Specialist, a global role within our Investment & Wealth Solutions Line of Business. The Opportunity: Our team of Fixed Income Product Specialists functions as subject matter experts supporting our wider Advisory proposition. This specific role would be responsible for supporting broad-based advisory bond solutions across HSBC Global Private Banking, among a wider investment team with a focus on delivering beneficial client outcomes. This is not a client facing role, but it requires a strong understanding of fixed income markets across a wide variety of areas including rates, developed and emerging market corporate credit, both Investment Grade and High Yield. Successful candidates will likely have buy-side experience, either from a private bank or asset management background and wish to improve their knowledge across Fixed Income markets globally. Fixed Income Product Specialists are expected to contribute to Global Private Banking\'s Fixed Income strategy and investment outlook, requiring a good grasp of macroeconomics. The successful candidate will be required to contribute to Investment Committees globally, will conduct bottom-up credit analysis (mostly EM ex-Asia corporate issuers) and bond selection. Candidates will also be required to contribute and maintain high conviction investment recommendations (i.e. Global Focus Lists) and take responsibility for documenting minutes from weekly Regional and Global Credit Selection Committees. The role involves close liaison with Global teams across multiple regions to ensure product consistency while ensuring they are in compliance with regulatory and internal policies. Candidates will require strong interpersonal skills and be expected to build relationships with internal stakeholders such as other Global Private Banking Product Specialists across Regions and the CIO Team. Confident presentation skills with the ability to communicate in a timely and relevant manner, both oral and written, will be advantageous. Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: Educated to graduate level (or equivalent level of experience) with a focus in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related fields will be a plus. MBA / CFA charterholder or progress towards CFA designation a plus. Minimum 5 years of experience within Fixed Income, preferably from a private bank / asset management business. A strong understanding of Fixed Income markets, mostly corporate credit (EM/DM) and interest rates and a good general understanding of financial markets and bond valuation methodologies. Experience in credit analysis and research would be a plus. Curiosity to develop a broad understanding of how sector and company developments impact debt issuers, including the identification of investment risks and opportunities for Global Private Banking\'s Advisory clients. A desire to develop and improve processes, as well as a demonstrable track record of driving results while maintaining high global standards. A strong ability to work in a team environment, adapt to an entrepreneurial group and to think and act independently. Excellent oral and written skills of English is a pre-requisite with other languages an additional advantage. Well organised and ability to prioritise a multitude of tasks across a variety of business stakeholders. Proficiency with Bloomberg, Excel and PowerPoint and other system applications strongly preferred.
