To ensure smooth and safe operation of plant machinery by performing installation, fitting, preventive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment, thereby minimizing breakdowns and supporting uninterrupted production.
2. Key Roles & Responsibilities
Perform
installation, alignment, and fitting
of pumps, motors, gearboxes, piping, valves, and other plant equipment.
Carry out
preventive and breakdown maintenance
of mechanical systems in WTP, PCTP, boilers, turbines, and process equipment.
Supervise and guide
junior fitters / helpers
during shift maintenance activities.
Ensure
timely lubrication, tightening, and replacement of spare parts
to reduce downtime.
Maintain proper records of maintenance activities in
logbooks
Follow
safety protocols, PPE usage, and LOTO (Lock Out-Tag Out)
while handling equipment.
Assist in preparing
maintenance checklists, schedules, and spare part requisitions
.
Coordinate with the
operations and EHS team
for safe execution of jobs.
Support
root cause analysis (RCA)
for recurring equipment failures.
Report any abnormalities, unsafe conditions, or breakdowns to the Maintenance Incharge.
3. Qualifications & Experience
ITI / Diploma in Fitter / Mechanical trade
from a recognized institute.
Minimum
5-7 years' experience
as a Fitter in a process/chemical/ethanol/power plant.
Hands-on knowledge of
pumps, compressors, blowers, heat exchangers, piping systems
.
Familiarity with
welding, gas cutting, alignment tools, and safety practices
.
