Key responsibilities of a fitter include

:

Assembling and Installing:

Putting together and installing machinery, equipment, or structural components, often working from blueprints and specifications.

Maintenance and Repair:

Performing routine maintenance checks, troubleshooting malfunctions, and repairing broken equipment.

Fabrication and Welding:

Using welding equipment, cutting torches, and other tools to fabricate and construct components, often from raw materials.

Tool Use:

Employing a variety of hand and power tools for fitting, shaping, and assembling parts, ensuring proper alignment and fit.

Reading Plans and Specifications:

Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the requirements of the job.

Inspecting and Quality Control:

Checking fabricated components for accuracy, fit, and compliance with specifications.
