Key Responsibilities Assembly & Installation: Fit, assemble, and erect machinery, structural components, and piping systems according to technical drawings and specifications. Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine checks, diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical equipment, often involving hydraulics or electrical systems. Fabrication: Cut, shape, and modify metal parts using various tools (saws, files, drills) to create custom components. Quality Control: Inspect finished work and components to ensure they meet precise standards and specifications. Safety & Documentation: Adhere to all safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain accurate records of work performed. Essential Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills: Ability to read engineering drawings, use measuring instruments, and operate hand/power tools. Mechanical Aptitude: Knowledge of mechanical systems, workshop technology, and diagnostic techniques. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. Certifications: Often an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in a Fitter trade is required.
