To ensure that all raw materials, in-process products, and finished fishmeal and fish oil products meet quality and safety standards as per company, customer, and regulatory requirements. The QC Technologist will conduct laboratory testing, monitor production quality parameters, and implement corrective actions to maintain product consistency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct
routine analysis
of raw fish, cooked material, press liquor, fishmeal, and fish oil samples.
Perform
(cooking temperature, pressing efficiency, drying time, etc.) to ensure product quality.
Maintain
sampling and testing records
, ensuring full traceability.
Ensure compliance with
HACCP, ISO, and regulatory standards
(FSSAI, EIA, or export standards).
Conduct
microbiological and chemical testing
as required.
Assist in
calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments
.
Report non-conformities and assist in
root cause analysis and corrective actions
.
Support
quality audits
and
customer inspections
.
Collaborate with production teams to improve product quality and reduce wastage.
Qualifications & Experience:
B.Sc. / M.Sc.
in Food Technology, Fisheries Science, Microbiology, or related discipline.
2-5 years
experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance in a
fishmeal or seafood processing
industry preferred.
Knowledge of
chemical analysis methods
and
QC instruments
(moisture analyzers, Soxhlet apparatus, protein analyzers, etc.).
Familiarity with
international standards
for fishmeal (e.g., IFFO, EIA, FOS, HACCP).
Key Skills:
Strong analytical and laboratory skills
Understanding of fishmeal production processes
Attention to detail and accuracy
Good record-keeping and documentation skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, LIMS, ERP preferred)
Work Environment:
Based at the fishmeal production plant laboratory
Exposure to raw materials, processing equipment, and lab chemicals
May require working in shifts or extended hours during peak production
Remuneration:
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
