Fire Technician - Maintenance

Job Purpose

The Fire Technician - Maintenance is responsible for the

inspection, testing, operation, and routine maintenance

of fire fighting and fire alarm systems to ensure continuous compliance with fire safety standards and statutory requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesFire Fighting System Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance of: Fire pumps (Diesel, Electric & Jockey) Hydrant and sprinkler systems Hose reels, landing valves, yard hydrants Fire extinguishers (ABC, CO?, DCP, Water type) Ensure all fire systems remain in

working and ready condition

Fire Alarm & Detection System

Maintain fire alarm panels, smoke detectors, heat detectors, MCPs, and hooters. Check wiring, batteries, and control panels regularly. Attend alarm faults and rectify issues promptly.

Inspection & Testing

Conduct

daily / weekly / monthly checks

of fire pumps and systems. Carry out pressure testing, flow testing, and alarm testing. Assist during

Fire Department inspections and audits

Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

Identify system faults and perform corrective maintenance. Replace defective parts and coordinate with supervisors/vendors. Maintain adequate tools and spares at site.

Documentation & Records

Maintain logs for: Fire pump testing Extinguisher inspection & refilling Alarm system testing Report abnormalities to the supervisor immediately.

Safety & Emergency Response

Follow all safety procedures during maintenance work. Support mock drills and emergency response activities. Assist in actual fire emergencies as part of the response team.

Qualifications & Experience

ITI / Diploma

in Fire & Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent.

2-5 years

experience in fire fighting system maintenance. Experience in construction sites, industrial plants, or facilities preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Good knowledge of fire fighting & alarm systems Ability to read basic drawings and layouts Hands-on troubleshooting skills Team player with safety-oriented mindset Basic documentation and reporting skills

Working Conditions

Site-based role Shift duty / emergency call-outs as required Exposure to pump rooms, rooftops, shafts, and outdoor areas
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
