Job Summary

The Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. The ideal candidate has hands-on technical experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Install, program, and commission fire alarm systems and related components Perform regular inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance in compliance with NFPA and local codes Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning fire alarm systems and wiring issues Ensure all work is performed according to company standards and safety protocols Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation Coordinate with clients, contractors, and local authorities as needed Stay current with industry standards, products, and technological advancements Respond to emergency service calls and be available for on-call rotations (if applicable)

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred 3-6 years of experience in fire alarm system installation and maintenance Knowledge of NFPA codes, local fire regulations, and industry best practices Familiarity with major fire alarm system brands (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Notifier, etc.) Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Valid driver's license and clean driving record Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
