Job Description


Responsibilities & Tasks Include:

  • The individual should develop a thorough understanding of State Street’s business practices to effectively perform independent, reporting or analytics and to support the ad-hoc needs of the businesses. Reporting to the Finance CoE Manager, the invidual will be assigned to in-market Finance teams, working remotely alongside on-shore team members to complete cyclical financial processes and perform adhoc analysis. Deliverables vary by Finance team but typically relate to;
    • Month/quarter/year-end closing and forecast
    • Annual operational planning process (budget)
    • Revenue reviews
    • Production of management information packs and analysis for several divisions
    • Multi-dimensional profitability (business, region, product and client)
    • Variance analysis along with preparation of management presentations describing insights
    • Complete and accurate preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to applicable regulators
    • Prepare initial schedules and reports, including primary data provider capture point and work paper preparations
    • Analyze financial data in order to complete filings, understand fluctuations and uncover potential inaccuracies
    • Perform edit check reviews and follow up on applicable discrepancies
    • Perform reconciliations across products, reports and schedules
    • Execute source system data reconciliation versus General Ledger
    • Decision support on adhoc projects as they arise
    • Preparing and/or maintaining models for business pricing
  • Self-review of reporting & analytics deliverables for first pass accuracy and presenting analytical results, findings as needed
  • Participates in function specific projects as needed
  • Updates various financial models to generate analyses
  • Collecting information and analytical needs from management to determine analysis approach
  • Process improvement for systems and processes within the finance department to drive efficiencies and automate low-end tasks

Education Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Finance

Skills/ Knowledge:
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess strong communication skills with ability to participate in conference calls and contribute to presentation of financial results to financial and non-financial audiences at various levels of seniority
  • Pride of ownership with the ability to drive results within the Business
  • Solid business knowledge as it relates to the financial services industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio), advanced levels of excel (pivot tables, formulas, excel workbook maintenance best practices)
  • Strong Analytical skill set
  • Financial product and institution knowledge
  • This is a visible role. Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills, and ability to present complex financial matters to management

  • Ability to multi-task and work under high pressure deadlines
