Function Overview
The Finance organization partners across General Mills to provide financial expertise to guide and govern the company. Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to support the organization's internal control framework by performing control testing as part of both SOX Compliance and the Global Controls Assessment. The role will be integral to ensuring the effectiveness, accuracy, and reliability of financial and operational processes through thorough testing, documentation, and reporting of control activities.
In addition to control testing, the individual in this role will be responsible for driving continuous improvements in processes to enhance efficiency and compliance. The role will also support other key finance and compliance initiatives such as the Financial Representation Letter process, NA Warehouse CSA, Customer Letters, Finance India CSA, and process reviews.
Timely and high-quality execution of all assigned activities, along with clear reporting of outcomes and observations to management, will be critical to the success of this position.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
70% of Time Operational Excellence
Conduct comprehensive testing of controls for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance and Global Controls Assessments to ensure the effectiveness, accuracy, and reliability of financial and operational processes. Verify adequate documentation, report testing results with quality and timeliness, and proactively escalate potential bottlenecks or delays to relevant stakeholders.
Prepare and deliver quality reports for audits, and process reviews.
Facilitate the Control Self-Assessment (CSA) process for Finance India, ensuring thorough execution and follow-up on any identified gaps.
Provide support and guidance to team members to help resolve challenges and ensure smooth execution of tasks.
Support and coordinate the annual updating of the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for Global Quality & Risk.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on key priorities.
Ensure timely completion of all assigned activities by monitoring progress, managing dependencies, and mitigating risks.
30% of Time Continuous Improvement, Projects, Initiatives
Ensure all documentations such as OPLs, RACI are available/ updated.
Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency or improve output
Collaborate and participate in Finance India initiatives and team building activities
Support ad-hoc projects
Self development through learnings and trainings
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education - Full time graduation from an accredited university
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters
Preferred Major Area of Study: Finance & Accountancy
Preferred Professional Certifications: CA/ CIA/ CISA/ ACCA/ CPA/ CMA/ MBA
Minimum years of related experience required: 5-6 Years

SPECIFIC JOB EXPERIENCE OR SKILLS NEEDED
Key Responsibilities
Perform control testing as part of SOX Compliance and Global Controls Assessment, ensuring adherence to established standards and methodologies.
Facilitate key compliance and control processes including Finance Representation Letter, NA Warehouse CSA, Finance India CSA, and Customer Letters.
Execute all assigned activities with accuracy, completeness, and within defined timelines.
Apply a strong risk and controls mindset to all activities, proactively identifying potential control gaps and improvement opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement by recommending and implementing enhancements to testing procedures, documentation quality, and process efficiency.
Prioritize tasks effectively to manage multiple deliverables and ensure critical deadlines are consistently met.
Prepare and present clear, concise reports of findings and observations to management, ensuring transparency and actionable insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent understanding and application of control and compliance requirements across regions and processes.
Other Responsibilities
Design and implement process standardization initiatives, governance reviews, process reviews, and quality control as per business requirement.
Apply sound knowledge of risk and control frameworks to support robust process governance and compliance standards.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders to support business objectives and expand the team's scope of work.
