The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for managing the company's financial planning, budgeting, and performance tracking. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret financial data, and the capability to guide management with informed decisions. The analyst will also supervise junior team members and ensure that all financial reports are accurate and delivered on time.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Lead Financial Planning, Analysis & Budgeting
Create annual budgets and financial plans for the company.
Continuously track actual performance vs. budget.
Identify gaps, variances, and areas that need attention.
Study the company's revenue and expenses in detail.
Analyse how much profit each department or product is generating.
Review the cost structure and suggest ways to reduce unnecessary spending.
Assess whether a new project, branch, or investment is financially viable.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for management.
Build forecasting models to predict future performance.
Convert raw financial data into easy-to-understand charts and summaries.
Present insights that help management make strategic decisions.
4. Advise Senior Management on Financial Performance
Interpret financial results and highlight important findings.
Advise on improving profitability, cash flow, and financial stability.
Participate in key decision-making meetings and provide data-backed recommendations.
Review the work submitted by junior analysts for correctness.
Guide them on data analysis, reporting formats, and financial tools.
Ensure all reports are submitted on time with 100% accuracy.
6. Support Audits & Compliance
Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit periods.
Ensure all financial documentation is maintained properly.
Follow accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
7. Cross-Department Coordination
Work closely with Accounts, Operations, HR, Sales, and other teams.
Collect required financial data and verify it before preparing reports.
Help streamline financial processes across departments.
Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or related field.
MBA (Finance), M.Com, CMA, CA Inter, or similar certification preferred (optional but an added advantage).
1 to 5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, MIS reporting, or related roles.
Strong knowledge of financial statements, ratios, accounting principles, and budgeting.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and data analysis tools.
Good understanding of forecasting, variance analysis, and profitability analysis.
Strong communication skills in English and Malayalam (written & verbal).
Ability to work under pressure, handle deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
Experience using ERP/accounting software is an added advantage.
