Responsibilities and Scope Impact / Scope

  • Support service delivery of Record to Report (RTR) processes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of work / reports
  • Assist in training and mentoring of team
  • Support coordination with other functions (including leadership) as well as Global Process Owners within a Shared Service Center (SSC)
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for key Record to Record (RTR) process activities in the Captive SSC (accounting for various processes including Fixed Assets / Deferred Revenue / Intercompany / Professional Services / Contra / Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable / Bank / Treasury / Payroll / Pension / Direct Tax / VAT, etc.), and ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of work / reports in the following areas:
  • Support service delivery and operations of RTR transactional services in a SSC for regions such as EMEA, APJ, AMS
  • Own and execute accounting for various processes including Fixed Assets / Deferred Revenue / Intercompany / Contra / Professional Services / Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable / Bank / Treasury / Payroll / Pension / Direct Tax / VAT, etc. in a SSC (as per accounting policies and corporate-wide accounting processes)
  • Post manual journal entries for complex accruals / provisions and provide justification for Quality Assurance process
  • Review and support preparation of monthly / quarterly balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations
  • Report and track high risk / critical items in a timely manner
  • Coordinate the audit process (Internal Audits, SOX Audit, Local Statutory Audit, External (Process & Systems): coordination of documentation support and providing necessary explanations
  • Prepare monthly reports as assigned, and highlight / rectify any identified anomalies (including all reporting requirements accurately and within specified timelines)
  • Perform analysis of transactional accounting information to support decision making
  • Typically, the first escalation point of contact for customer issues related to RTR
  • Support the development / changes in systems, transactions and processes (including process documentation) and support new projects / transitions
  • Ensure all reporting activities are executed timely, accurately and with the required quality and ensure compliance to SOX
  • Assist in development of standard SSC finance documents and reports
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvements and make recommendations
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Other RTR activities as assigned from time to time
  • Assist in training and mentoring of team
Required Skills and Experience Education and Experience
  • Accounting qualifications will be an added advantage (CA, CPA, ACCA)
  • 2-6 years' experience
  • Non-qualified accountants with relevant matching experience may also please apply
  • 6-10 years' experience
  • Direct relevant experience of working in a Captive SSC / Business Process Outsourcing Organizations will be desired (in addition to years of experience / qualification)
Knowledge and Skills

Essential:
  • Strong domain knowledge in RTR processes
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) / US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP) Accounting
  • Strong experience of finance & accounting systems (SAP, Netsuite, Blackline etc.)
  • Experience of managing senior onshore customers through daily / hourly interactions
  • Flexibility to support different time-zones and geographies
  • Fluency in English language (verbal and written)
Other:
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills (MIS reporting)
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excel, PowerPoint knowledge with aptitude to extract information from existing business systems
  • Excellent prioritisation skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure to make key decisions
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities, with an ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Highly organised and motivated team player
