Role Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical General Ledger Accountant with a strong foundation in cost accounting to join our Bangalore-based finance team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in R2R processes, strong reconciliation capabilities, and an understanding of end-to-end GL responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
JD:
Key Responsibilities
Record and summarize daily bank transactions; post related journal entries.
Manage intercompany transactions and ensure timely reconciliations.
Support AP and T&E pay runs, including related bank postings.
Perform fixed asset accounting, including capitalization and depreciation.
Review and correct AP coding through reclassification entries.
Oversee end-to-end AP and T&E workflows.
Execute salary allocation runs.
Calculate, post, and reconcile monthly accruals and prepayments.
Reconcile sub-ledgers with the General Ledger and ensure accuracy.
Handle end-to-end GL accounting activities, including monthly close.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports as requested by internal stakeholders.
Assist onshore finance teams with VAT reconciliation and handle VAT grouping.
Reconcile and report CAPEX & OPEX.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assist with group reporting.
Liaise with auditors during SOX, internal, and statutory audits.
Ensure adherence to close deadlines and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
Strong understanding of accounting systems and financial tools
Strong communication and interpretation skills
Proven ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives
Ability to work well in a team and learn quickly
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Highly organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
Familiarity with cost accounting principles preferred
* Experience in PeopleSoft or other ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) is a plus
