Job Description


About the Project: Young Adults for Accessible, Respectful, and Inclusive Reproductive Health Initiatives (YAARI) is a 5 year project funded by USAID. The Goal of the program is to Support India\xe2\x80\x99s vision of providing accessible, high-quality, dignified, equitable, comprehensive Family Planning services, especially to hard-to-reach young people, adolescent girls, and other marginalized groups. : The Finance Officer will assist Sr. Finance Officer in all matters relating to the finance department; including maintenance of books of accounts. S/he will also work closely with the Associate Director - Finance in budgeting and reporting, variance analysis, audit, etc. The key responsibilities incudes:

  • Receiving and processing invoices, handling expense settlements and managing payment requests from vendors and staff.
  • Reviewing and processing payment vouchers (for travel, petty cash, vendors, consultant etc.) while considering deductions such as advances & taxes.
  • Processing and accounting for travel / program advances and related expense claims settlement from staff /State Offices.
  • Posting financial data to the appropriate accounts head in accounting system, according to instructions.
  • Ensuring that all accounting record is properly supported by documentation that meets the requirements of the donor and is properly filed for easy retrieval.
  • Coordinating with State Office for timely receipt of monthly settlements against advances, attend the queries raised by State Office and resolve the same.
  • Co-ordinating with the vendors/parties to address queries on invoices/bills and ensuring timely release of payment.
  • Ensuring the timely preparation, review and approval of monthly bank account reconciliation\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Reconciling advances to staff / state offices and obtain confirmation on monthly basis
  • Maintaining filing systems for accounting documents and vouchers, ensuring proper files are maintained to support all processed transactions
  • Assisting in submission of necessary information for preparation of reports to be submitted to donor.
  • Ensuring issuance of TDS Certificate to vendors / contractors
  • Coordinating and assisting in internal / statutory / donor audit processes of the organization.
  • Undertaking any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor
Qualification and Experience:
  • Applicant must be a graduate in Commerce with minimum 3-4 years of experience working with National / International NGOs.
  • Experience of working in a USAID funded project would be preferred
  • Knowledge of working on ERP or other accounting software
  • Knowledge of working on ERP or other accounting software
Proficiency in relevant computer applications particularly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word Essential Skills and Competencies:
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Good analytical skills
  • Work with team and able to contribute to team building
  • Good learning attitude and participatory in approach
