Role: Finance Officer, Delhi

Nature- Fixed Term Contract
About The Role
The position is responsible for managing both local and international grants received by the organization. This includes monitoring and reviewing project budgets and cash flows, conducting financial reviews of projects, and facilitating project financial audits. Additionally, the role ensures accurate financial reporting, leads the budgeting process for new grant proposals, and builds team capacity to meet financial standards and compliance requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Funds Processing and Utilization

  • Monitor and process fund requests by projects, ensuring compliance with approved limits.
  • Coordinate timely disbursal of funds to projects by collaborating with the Accounts team.
Financial Monitoring and Review
  • Monitor project budgets and cash flows to ensure financial health.
  • Conduct financial reviews for assigned projects.
  • Assist in implementing cost control measures under the guidance of the Finance Manager.
Financial Management
  • Support in financial planning, monitoring, and reporting for grant projects.
  • Assist in developing and refining financial processes aligned with the organization's standards.
  • Contribute to accurate financial reporting for effective donor communication.
Capacity Building
  • Assist in enhancing the capacity of the project finance team for better financial compliance.
  • Support skill development initiatives within the team to ensure efficient financial management.
Inter-Department Liaison and Support
  • Provide financial inputs to the Fundraising and Marketing team for proposal development.
  • Collaborate with Program Associates to facilitate detailed budgeting at State Offices.
Compliance & Audits
  • Ensure adherence to statutory financial compliances across the organization's operations.
  • Support in preparing for and managing internal and external audits.
Team Support and Additional Responsibilities
  • Foster effective inter-team communication and contribute to positive team dynamics.
  • Participate in performance appraisals and support team development initiatives.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager as part of the role.
Educational Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
Post-Graduation degree in Accounts or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in grant management, accounts, auditing, or financial management.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP 9 preferred.
  • Sound understanding of financial management principles.
