Role Summary
The Finance Manager will play a critical role in shaping the financial health and sustainability of the organization. You will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and guiding business decisions with insight. This role demands a mix of strategic thinking, strong technical skills, and hands-on management of finance operations.
Responsibilities
Prepare reliable, timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) and other MIS reports for management.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Monitor performance vs budget and analyses variances.
Manage cash, working capital, liquidity, payables, receivables to ensure optimal fund flow.
Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy in reporting.
Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance: direct & indirect taxes, financial laws/regulations, audits.
Develop & monitor key financial metrics / KPIs, provide insights and recommendations for cost efficiency and profitability.
Manage financial risk: assess risks, prepare mitigation plans, ensure compliance with risk frameworks.
Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis for strategic initiatives (investments, new product lines, pricing, cost optimization).
Lead and mentor the finance & accounts team: delegate, review, train, build capabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Sales, HR, etc.) to support their financial needs, ensure alignment of financial strategy with business objectives.
Manage relationships with external stakeholders (banks, auditors, tax/regulatory bodies).
Drive process improvements, identify automation opportunities / system upgrades to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or equivalent. Master's / MBA in Finance is preferred.
Professional qualification preferred: CA / CMA / CPA / similar.
Minimum 5-8 years of overall experience in finance / accounting roles; at least 2-3 years in a managerial or team-lead position.
Experience in preparing financial statements under applicable accounting standards and compliance.
Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modelling.
Solid understanding of tax laws (income tax, GST etc.), regulatory compliance.
Experience with ERP / finance software, advanced Excel skills.
