About the Role:
The Finance Manager will report to Senior Finance Manager and will assume the following works in this role:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Budget Management
Support Senior Finance Manager and Director in preparation of annual organizational budgets and project-wise budgets in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.
Monitor budget utilization regularly and analyze variances against approved budgets.
Provide financial projections and cash flow forecasts to ensure smooth program operations.
Support leadership in financial planning and strategic decision-making.
2. Accounting, Financial Operations & Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of books of accounts in compliance with applicable accounting standards and NGO regulations.
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including payments, receipts, bank reconciliations, and petty cash management.
Manage month-end and year-end financial closing processes and ensure accounts are audit-ready at all times.
Ensure proper expense coding and documentation across projects and donors.
Prepare donor financial reports, utilization certificates, and fund statements in coordination with program teams.
3. Donor, Grant & Fund Management
Manage finances for multiple donor-funded projects, ensuring strict adherence to approved budgets, grant agreements, and donor guidelines.
Structure and classify funds appropriately as
restricted or unrestricted
, and ensure correct setup of projects in the accounting system.
Support proposal development by preparing realistic project budgets and participating in donor financial due diligence.
Track grant fund inflows and project expenditures throughout the project lifecycle to avoid over- or under-utilization of funds.
Allocate costs accurately across projects and funding sources, including fair and transparent apportionment of overheads.
Manage grant closures, including final utilization reporting, fund reconciliation, and donor sign-off.

Statutory Compliance & Audit Coordination
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including Income Tax, FCRA (if applicable), GST, and labor laws.
Coordinate statutory, donor, and FCRA audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation.
Liaise with auditors, chartered accountants, and regulatory authorities as required.
Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and compliance reports.
5. Financial Reporting & Governance
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and the Board.
Support governance processes by providing accurate financial information for board meetings and reviews.
Maintain financial records and documentation in an audit-ready manner at all times.
Contribute financial inputs to annual reports and organizational disclosures.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, CA, or other related fields with at least 4-5 years of experience in developing financial sectors.
Excellent Knowledge of donor funding cycles and reporting requirements, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Excellent knowledge of Income Tax compliance for NGOs (12A, 80G), TDS, GST FCRA regulations and reporting (if applicable).
Proficiency in accounting software - Tally
Ability to prepare clear, accurate financial reports for donors and boards.
Excellent knowledge of NGO Finance.
