Position Title: Finance Manager
Department: Accounts & Finance
Reporting To: Director - Operations / Managing Trustee
Location: Kuniya Group of Institutions, Kasaragod, Kerala
Employment Type: Full-time

1. Position Overview



The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the overall financial operations of the institution, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial transactions. The role involves planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all finance-related activities including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, audits, statutory compliance, and reporting.

2. Key Responsibilities



A. Financial Management & Reporting



Oversee day-to-day financial operations including cash flow, accounts receivable/payable, and payroll.

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management.

Develop and monitor financial performance metrics, ensuring adherence to institutional budgets.

Support management in financial planning, forecasting, and cost control measures.

Ensure proper maintenance of all financial records in compliance with legal and audit requirements.

B. Budgeting & Planning



Prepare annual budgets in coordination with department heads.

Monitor budget utilization and report deviations with recommendations.

Provide financial analysis for decision-making on new projects and institutional expansions.

C. Compliance & Audit



Ensure timely compliance with statutory obligations including GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Income Tax, and other applicable laws.

Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure audit findings are addressed promptly.

Maintain updated knowledge of financial regulations and government policies applicable to educational institutions.

D. Banking & Treasury Operations



Manage institutional bank accounts, investments, and cash management processes.

Handle loan documentation, fund transfers, and reconciliation of accounts.

Liaise with banks, financial institutions, and auditors as required.

E. Team Leadership & Coordination



Supervise and guide the accounts and finance team in day-to-day operations.

Ensure staff training, task allocation, and adherence to timelines.

Promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency within the department.

3. Qualifications & Experience



Educational Qualification: CA Completed (Prefered), M. Com / MBA (Finance) / CMA preferred.

Experience: Minimum 8 plus years of experience in accounts/finance management, preferably in an educational or institutional setup.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Tally ERP / Tally Prime and MS Excel.

Knowledge of statutory compliance (GST, PF, ESI, Income Tax).

Familiarity with institutional accounting and project-based cost management.
