The Finance Head will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and strengthening the financial health of Shreyas Foundation, including the school and its outreach programs. This role will ensure compliance, efficient use of resources, financial transparency, and long-term sustainability while supporting the Foundation's vision and values.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Strategy
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls aligned with institutional goals.
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies for both school and outreach activities.
Monitor and report on the Foundation's financial health, including cash flow, assets, liabilities, and investments.
Accounting & Compliance
Supervise accounting operations, bookkeeping, and statutory compliance (Income Tax, GST, FCRA, PF, TDS, etc.).
Ensure timely preparation and finalization of annual accounts, audit reports, and financial statements.
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements specific to educational institution, Trust, and Foundation.
Fund Management & Resource Allocation
Oversee fee collections, grant management, donations, and endowment funds.
Ensure effective fund allocation across academic programs, infrastructure, outreach, and cultural activities.
Monitor cost-effectiveness and ensure accountability in resource utilization.
Reporting & Governance
Present financial reports to Management/Board of Trustees on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Support the Board in financial decision-making with data-driven insights.
Liaise with auditors, banks, donors, government departments, and other stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team.
Build financial awareness and accountability among staff through training and clear systems.
Promote a culture of transparency and ethical financial practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Masters in Finance or M.COM, or Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification preferred.
Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (preferably in schools, trusts, or NGOs).
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, FCRA, and educational trust compliances.
Proven experience in financial planning, audits, and governance.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office tools.
