Finance Executive - Travel Agency



A Finance Executive in a travel agency manages day-to-day financial operations related to tours, hotels, airlines, vendors, and clients. The role focuses on

billing, payments, cost control, GST compliance, and profitability of tour packages

.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Billing



Prepare

invoices

for tour packages, hotels, flights, and transport Handle

client billing

(B2C & B2B agents) Maintain

receivables & payables

ledger Follow up for

outstanding payments


Vendor & Supplier Payments



Process payments to

hotels, transporters, airlines, guides, vendors

Reconcile

supplier bills vs confirmations

Maintain vendor contracts & rate sheets

Tour Costing & Profitability



Calculate

tour package costing

Track

per-tour profit & loss

Compare

estimated vs actual expenses

Support management with

pricing strategy


Banking & Cash Management



Handle

bank reconciliation statements (BRS)

Manage

cash / online payments / UPI / card settlements

Coordinate with banks for payments & statements

GST & Compliance



Prepare

GST invoices

(IGST / CGST / SGST) File

GST returns

(GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) Maintain records for

audit & compliance

Handle TDS (if applicable)

Reporting & MIS



Daily / weekly

collection & payment reports

Monthly

profit & loss summary

Tour-wise & destination-wise sales report Support annual budgeting & forecasting

Skills Required



Strong knowledge of

accounts & GST

Experience in

travel agency operations

Good command over

Excel

(VLOOKUP, Pivot, MIS) Knowledge of

tour costing & supplier reconciliation

Familiarity with

Tally / Zoho / Busy / ERP systems

Attention to detail & follow-up skills

Preferred Background



B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance)

1-5 years experience in

travel / tourism / hospitality

Experience with

B2B travel agents

is a plus
