The Finance Controller will be responsible for leading the organization's overall financial administration, ensuring sound financial management, compliance, and strategic planning. This senior role requires a seasoned finance leader with over 20 years of experience in budgeting, cost control, financial forecasting, fundraising strategies, and process optimization. The Finance Controller will provide leadership in building financial sustainability, managing risks, and enabling data-driven decision-making aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Planning
Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Develop and implement fundraising and investment strategies to ensure financial sustainability.
Monitor and align financial plans with organizational goals and ministry priorities.
2. Budgeting & Cost Control
Oversee preparation, monitoring, and management of annual budgets.
Implement effective cost control measures to optimize resources.
Ensure financial discipline across all departments and projects.
3. Process & Services Optimization
Streamline financial systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms for efficiency.
Introduce automation and digital tools to improve transparency and reduce manual intervention.
Drive continuous improvements in financial operations and service delivery.
4. Fund Management & Risk Planning
Manage cash flows, investments, and fund utilization to ensure liquidity and sustainability.
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, ensuring strong internal controls.
Provide strategies for fund allocation, monitoring, and accountability.
5. Reporting & Compliance
Oversee timely and accurate preparation of MIS reports, board presentations, and donor reports.
Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders for smooth financial governance.
6. Fundraising Support
Collaborate with leadership to design and monitor fundraising strategies.
Provide financial insights and analysis to enhance donor engagement and partner confidence.
Ensure effective utilization and accountability of funds received.
7. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead, mentor, and build the finance team for high performance.
Partner with senior leadership, ministry heads, and operational teams for financial decision-making.
Provide financial advice and insights for strategic growth and expansion.
Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant (CMA), MBA (Finance), or equivalent professional qualification.
20+ years of progressive experience in financial management, administration, or controlling roles.
Strong track record in budgeting, cost optimization, and financial leadership at a senior level.
