Role Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic and hands-on
Finance & Commercial Manager
to oversee all financial and commercial aspects of our capital projects. This role serves as the key financial business partner to the Project Director and senior leadership, ensuring that projects are delivered
on budget, on time, and with strong commercial outcomes
.
You will be the
guardian of project profitability
, leading financial modelling, commercial controls, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation for large-scale datacentre and engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Analysis
Project Controlling:
Establish and maintain robust financial controls for all data center construction and expansion projects.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Develop and manage detailed project budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans; track CAPEX and OPEX.
Cost Management:
Implement strong cost tracking systems; analyze variances and propose cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including cash flow projections, accruals, and commitment reporting.

Capitalization & Asset Management:
Ensure accurate capitalization of project costs and coordinate seamless handover of fixed assets to operations.

Commercial Management
Contract Management:
Lead negotiation and administration of high-value contracts with contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers.

Procurement Support:
Work closely with procurement teams to evaluate bids, perform cost-benefit analyses, and drive best-value purchasing.

Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and commercial risks; manage insurance and bonding requirements.

Change Order Management:
Evaluate, negotiate, and manage all change orders, claims, and variations to protect project margins.

Payment Applications:
Review and approve contractor payment applications and invoices as per contract terms.

Strategic Business Partnering
Act as the primary financial advisor to the Project Director, offering data-driven insights for strategic decisions.
+ Partner with internal teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and external financial standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields.
Master's (MBA/MSc) and certifications like CPA, CMA, ACCA are highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 8+ years in senior finance or commercial management, with proven experience in:
+ Managing finances of
large-scale capital projects
+ Construction, datacenter, engineering, real estate development, or energy sectors (mandatory)
+ High-value contract negotiation (FIDIC, NEC, AIA preferred)
Technical Skills:
+ Advanced financial modelling (Excel/ Analytics )
+ SAP experience Prefer
+ Familiarity with project management tools
+ Deep understanding of project accounting, cost control & budgeting
