citiesRISE's network of city research and innovation hubs spanning India, Kenya, Colombia, and the U.S. designs, tests, and scales inner development-based mental health creation interventions that combine the best of contemporary science, ancient/indigenous knowledge system, and experiential learnings. In 2025, our interventions reached 150,000+ young people. In parallel, we build national-global infrastructure (e.g., learning capacity, delivery capacity, advocacy, funders collaboratives, field building research) for aligning and accelerating the work of a wide range of youth-facing systems, organizations, and youth leaders.

About the Position

The Finance and Administration Manager is a unique opportunity for a professional with a robust background in nonprofit financial management and with experience to support organizational financial operations and work closely with leadership to provide accurate reporting. The successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative manager who will lead in the following areas: finance, business planning, budgeting, grant management and reporting and support organization operations.

Responsibilities include:

Finance Management

? Develop and manage organization-wide, multi-year operating and program budgets across international programs

? Manage citiesRISE accounting contract to support the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.

? Manage timesheet processing and ensure accurate labor cost allocation across programs, grants, and international funding sources

? Manage organizational expenses and credit cards and review transactions for accuracy and policy compliance

? Monitor budget performance across multiple countries and funding streams; identify variances, risks, and mitigation strategies

? Manage and track financial components of contracts, including budget tracking, invoicing schedules, and compliance requirements

? Support leadership with financial planning, scenario modeling, and long-term sustainability forecasting

? Track restricted and unrestricted funds and ensure proper expense allocation across programs and geographies

? Develop clear, timely financial reports, dashboards and analysis for the Board of Directors, finance committee, and senior management

? Stay current on nonprofit finance regulations, compliance requirements, and funder expectations, including those relevant to international operations

? Support adherence to internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements across countries of operation

? Work with Finance Director to coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and external financial reviews

? Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, donor restrictions, and organizational financial policies

Donor Reporting Management

? Develop detailed project and grant proposal budgets in collaboration with program, operations, and leadership teams

? Prepare, review, and submit donor financial reports in accordance with grant agreements and international funding requirements

? Serve as the financial point of contact for funders on budget, reporting, and compliance questions

? Build and manage a multi-donor financial reporting calendar to ensure timely and accurate submissions

Administration

? Oversee and optimize all organizational subscriptions and recurring expenses

? Registration and management of an entity in India.

? Maintain and improve financial systems, tools, and internal controls to support organizational scale and international operations

? Monitor travel budgets and review travel-related receipts to ensure policy compliance and accurate allocation

? Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as needed for leadership, the Board, or funders

? Partner cross-functionally with program, operations, and leadership teams to ensure financial alignment and effective execution

? Support organizational growth by improving financial processes, systems, and scalability

? Manage any external agencies and/or suppliers to support office services.

Experience/Qualifications
citiesRISE is looking for candidates with a mastery of hands-on accounting, exceptional critical thinking skills, deep financial management experience in an international non-profit and/or government-funded grants environment, and advanced capacity for systems thinking and team leadership.

Qualifications include:
? Authentic connection to healthy communities and a passion for the work of citiesRISE, preferably with an understanding of and/or experience in related fields such as global mental health, urban development, collective action, systems change, youth engagement, youth leadership, health system strengthening, technology innovation, and poverty and vulnerability etc.
? Minimum of a BA in related field (Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance) or equivalent; ideally with an MBA/CPA or related degree.
? 7+ years of professional experience managing nonprofit funds, grants, private and federal grant accounting and administration, and international nonprofit finances. Experience in management consulting and/or start-up environments is a plus.
? Proficiency in all aspects of non-profit accounting and finance.
? A proven track record in grants management.
? Advanced proficiency in information technology and standard software programs to effectively utilize account systems (Quickbooks Online, Bill.com) MS Office applications, Google Apps, and other data management systems, as well as experience in financial systems integration.
? Demonstrated experience navigating contractual language.
? Excellent data presentation skills and the ability to translate financial concepts and data clearly to a wide range of audiences.
? Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement financial management infrastructure (e.g., developing operational policies).
? Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
? Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits
This position will be based in India. Payment will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
