Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Chakan, Pune. This is a contract role requiring onsite presence. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. Key responsibilities include:
Preparing accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with Indian accounting standards (Ind AS)
Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded
Ensuring compliance with local (Indian) and international accounting regulations and standards
Coordinating and managing internal and external audits
Analyzing financial data to provide insights and support decision-making
Managing budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning
Collaborating closely with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies
Ensuring adherence to Indian tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax
Qualifications
Education
: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent certification (e.g., CA, CMA) is a plus.
Experience
: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction, manufacturing, or engineering sector. Experience with international accounting practices is an advantage.
Technical Skills
:
o Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
o Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards (Ind AS) and tax regulations (GST, TDS, Income Tax)
o Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
o Experience with cost accounting and project accounting in the construction or manufacturing industry
o Knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
Soft Skills
:
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
o High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
o Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team
o Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
o Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
Additional Requirements
Demonstrated experience in coordinating audits and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
Familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) is a plus, given the company's Norwegian origin
Ability to liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities
Knowledge of financial management in a multinational or cross-border business environment
Compensation
Competitive salary ranging from INR 3 LPA to 5 LPA, with the possibility of higher compensation based on experience, skills, and performance.
