Job Description

Finance & Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the financial health of the educational institution by developing and overseeing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to leadership. This role plays a critical part in shaping the institution's financial policies, maintaining fiscal discipline, and supporting its mission through sound financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:



Strategic Financial Planning



Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with the institution's goals. Provide financial forecasts and risk analysis to support strategic decisions. Advise executive leadership on financial implications of institutional initiatives.

Budgeting & Financial Control



Lead the annual budgeting process across departments. Monitor and control expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget limits. Conduct monthly and quarterly financial reviews with department heads.

Accounting & Reporting



Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and dashboards. Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and internal accounting policies.

Regulatory Compliance & Audit



Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations governing educational institutions. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and financial reviews. Maintain proper documentation and financial records as per statutory requirements.

Cash Flow & Fund Management



Manage institutional cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability. Oversee treasury functions, investments, and bank relationships. Track and manage restricted and unrestricted funding, grants, and donations.

Team & Systems Leadership



Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team. Implement and maintain financial systems (e.g., ERP, accounting software). Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and efficiency.
